The Northern Pillar Energy Consortium is a landmark clean energy and high-speed digital communications initiative to strengthen connectivity between Europe and Africa. The project envisages the deployment of a hybrid, state-of-the-art undersea cable, including both a fiber-optic data cable and power cable elements, and the construction of new photovoltaic (PV) farms and energy storage facilities in Morocco.
By harnessing abundant renewable energy resources and deploying cutting-edge fiber-optic technology, this project will help both continents achieve important economic, societal and environmental goals.
